The cultural and sport center Skenderija, inside which stands the Sport's Hall Mirze Delibašića, was built in 1969 in the very center of Sarajevo, on the left bank of the river Miljačke. It extends over 70.000 square meters with many Halls inside the complex which serve different purposes but it is definitely the Basketball Club
Bosna which has a special role in its history. The champion of Bosnia and Herzegovina achieved some of the best club's results in Skenderija although the biggest success of
Bosna dates in April 4th 1979 when the team defeated Italian club Emerson 96:93 in the final of the Champion's Cup, played in Grenoble, France. BC
Bosna had one player that was known by at that time. That was Mirza Delibašić, who became the legend of the club and the city.
After his premature death in 2001 the management of the city of Sarajevo decided to rename the big Hall KSC Skenderija into the Sport's Hall of Mirza Delibašić showing how meaningful was that sportsman not only to the club but to the whole country. The up-coming Final Eight Tournament will be played nowhere else then in his Sport's Hall and that is why it's not strange at all KSC Skenderija turn into a big construction place. Instead of the stand for the press, which was set for the game between
Bosna and
FMP, a totally new one was build behind the baskets, the kind of one which is in accordance with all ULEB and Goodyear League standards. The press center in Hall II is soon-to-be finished and will be divided into two parts: the room for the press conferences and the working room.
